Carsten Petermann was touring all over Germany with the Paganini-Duo with a viiolinist until he got finger cramps and returned to medicine, working in a hospital in Rotenburg. Then he wrote a book “Kann man einem Psychiater trauen?” (Can you trust a psychiatrist?)

Die Münchner Tropenärztin Dr. med. Susanne Pechel wurde 1966 in Montevideo (Uruguay) geboren. Seit ihrem 13. Lebensjahr arbeitete sie für verschiedene Hilfsorganisationen, mit 16 organisierte sie ihr erstes grosses Benefizkonzert im Münchner “Theater der Jugend”. Mit den Gagen und dem Lohn aus Nachtdiensten im Krankenhaus finanzierte sie ihre Reisen zu den Hilfsprojekten. Mit 26 Jahren schließlich gründete sie eine eigene Hilfsorganisation, den Christlichen Entwicklungsdienst (CED), der heute mit über 1.000 aktiven Förderern deutschlandweit Hilfsprojekte in Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika und Osteuropa betreut. Alle Aktivitäten im Rahmen ihrer Stiftung laufen ehrenamtlich neben ihrem “normalen Berufsleben” als Ärztin und Musikerin.
Als Songwriterin und Sängerin tritt Susanne Pechel bereits seit ihrem sechzehnten Lebensjahr auf. 1984 konnte sie mit achtzehn Jahren ihre Lieder zum ersten Mal dem Fernsehpublikum beim “Talentschuppen” (SWR) präsentieren. Weitere Sendungen im Fernsehen und Hörfunk folgten. Am 3. November 2003 gewann Susanne Pechel den 1. Platz der Internationale Poptrophäe 2003/2004 in allen drei Kategorien Komposition, Textdichtung und Interpretation mit ihrem Song “Living in a rich world, able to give.” Nach Abschluß ihres Humanmedizinstudiums veröffentlichte sie ihre ersten CDs: 1997 CD-Album “Here I am”; 1998 CD Maxi-Single “Bread for the world”; 2002 CD-Single “Living in a rich world, able to give”; 2007 das gleichnamige CD-Album “Living in a rich world, able to give” und die CD-Single “Star falling into space”.
In Fernsehsendungen wie “Lebenslinien: Der kleine Himmel – vom Glück des Helfens” (BR, SWR, WDR, HR) oder “Zeichen der Zeit: Nicht nur zur Weihnachtszeit …” (SWR) wurde Susanne Pechel porträtiert und war Interviewgast in Sendungen wie u.a. Der Abendschau (BR), Nachrichten (Sat1), Welt der Wunder (Pro7), Stationen (BR), Mutter Teresa (BR), Der offene Himmel (BR), Die Sprechstunde (BR), sowie an vieler Kabel-TV und Hörfunksendungen. Susanne Pechel studierte Humanmedizin und trat daneben auf Liederbühnen auf. Nach ihrer Approbation promovierte sie 1997 in der Tropenmedizin am Tropeninstitut München. Die Hilfsprojekte, die Susanne Pechel in den vergangenen 25 Jahren unterstützte und ins Leben rief, reichen vom Aufbau von Armenkrankenhäusern bis hin zu Waisenhäusern, Aids-Hospizen, Obdachlosenheimen, Schulen und verschiedenen Hilfe-zur-Selbsthilfe-Projekten in Asien, Afrika, Lateinamerika und Osteuropa.

Alfredo De Pietra was born in 1955 in Potenza, Italy. He now lives in Palermo, Sicily.
He began listening to Irish music in the mid-1970s. His first musical passions were The Chieftains and the Bothy Band.
Over the years, he expanded his knowledge of Celtic music, primarily listening to Celtic guitar music. In 2000, he launched a website dedicated to Celtic music https://digilander.libero.it/alfstone/keltika.htm, which is very popular among Italian Celtic music fans.
Since 2001, he has been one of the main authors of the monthly (published?) Italian CD magazine “Keltika,” for which he has written dozens of reviews, articles, and interviews with leading Celtic musicians from around the world. Alfredo De Pietra is also a doctor specializing in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine and works as a general practitioner in Palermo, Sicily.
The musician and composer Volker Leiß was born in 1966. His main profession is medical doctor but he has made music since age 5. He won several prizes “Jugend musiziert” and produced 17 CDs, as a studio musician he contributed to further 18 productions. With his Volker-Leiss-Band he had more than 600 performances and is in the TV show “Zimmer frei” with Götz Alsmann. Recently he performed his first symphony composition with the Münster Symphony Orchestra with great success.
I am a Milanese hospital Neurologist, specialized in Internal medicine, Nephrology and Neuropathology. MUSIC CV: I have a degree in classical guitar from the Conservatory. I’ve also studied the Piano and Composition in Conservatory . My compositions have been performed by important musical ensembles. I have taught Classical Guitar for 15 years for Municipal Music Schools and Academies. Some of my Students have won awards on the National and International Levels. I’ve been studying the flute for eight years and I currently play flute in a chamber sextet (first flute, second flute, violin, viola, guitar, cello). Our programme includes pieces I have composed and transcribed, as well as pieces by Astor Piazzolla, Ligeti, Berio, Morton Feldman, Hindemit, Smith Brindle. Breda is a woman of many parts, Musician, TV presenter, Doctor and Mother. Already with one solo album under her belt her debut album Basil and Thyme earned her a nomination as Best Female Artist at the 2003 Irish Music Magazine Awards. She also has toured and performed worldwide as a violinist with Michael Flatelys Lord of the Dance and Feet of Flames which included performances at The Ryder Cup and the prestigous Red Cross Ball for the Royal Family in Monaco.
Breda has also brought her love and knowledge of Irish Music to wider audiences as presenter of the annual RTE television series The Fleadh Programmes this year filmed in Clonmel Co. Tipperary. She hosted The Irish Music Magazine Awards in the National Concert Hall in October 2003. She also featured in the six programme music series Transatlantic Sessions recently aired on B.B.C. Over the years Cora and Breda have performed together many times and now have finally collaborated to record an exciting album which represents the music they’ve loved and shared together.

1985: Hamburg – Reykjavik (Island)- Faeroe Islands – Shetlands – Hamburg 1989: Hamburg – North-Cape (Norway) – Hamburg (I did single-handed nightshifts in the age of 15) 1992: My twin sister and I celebrated our 18th birthday together in a heavy storm on the Atlantic Ocean on our way to Madeira (my parents and a few dolphins were our guests…) 1999: Crossed the South Atlantic in 29 days from Buenos Aires – Cape Town as a crewmember on board the 18m sailing yacht of the famous German sailor “Manfred Kerstan” 2006: Became member of the first German ladies-only team for the transatlantic race “HSH Nordbank blue-race” from Newport (USA) – Hamburg (Germany) My Job: helmsman, navigation, medicine on board, fitness trainer of the team
