Kienle has practised long distance sports as marathon (30 kg. ago…) and has been leading on international level with diving. Besides his musical career in two Jazz bands as trombone player. And collecting severyl things – his doctors office is fully decorated with model ambulances and pace makers. He also loves to ride the tandem bike.

Whenever my profession leaves some time, I take my trumpet and play jazz. Originally educated as a cello player, I soon felt the borders of classical music too close. I needed more freedom to express myself, to play my own music, to create chorusses, arrangements and compositions and to play “dirty” notes when I wanted. So jazz has become my passion for almost 40 years. I play by myself, in a sextett !ALIVE!, in a Big Band Jazz Association Orchestra or in a piano/flugelhorn duo. Being influenced by the great Dutch flugelhorn player Ack van Rooyen I am glad to live in a deep friendship with him for many years. So the flugelhorn became more and more my favorite instrument, furthermore due to it’s smoothness and warm tone, especially when playing ballads.

“echte aerzte” is a doctors’ band which was founded in 2001 at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It became known as “Dancing Patellas” – the name of the former band of keyboarder Hannes Haberl during his Munich -period. We changed out name as the munich band tries to start a revival presently.

Our repertoire (about three hours) is based on german “Schlager” and 60’s and 70’s oldies. We submit the songs to subtile microsurgical changes of arrangement and speed, achieving surprising, sometimes dazzling effects.
We are performing on the occasion of national and international medical congresses, the “Frankfurter Buchmesse” at the “Roter Salon” of the “Berliner Volksbuehne” as well as the Kreuzberger Punk-Kult-Laden “SO 36” our annual famous christmas concert.
