Both our orchestra and choir are non-auditioned and we welcome musicians of all standards and backgrounds. Our rehearsals are on Monday evenings in Stopford common room. This orchestral group was founded 25 years ago on the initiative of Dr. Luis Alberto Leiva Vieytes, pediatrician and professional musician, who met with Mr. Roberto Rafaeli (Clinical Laboratory), a brilliant professional musician who was part of the BOSSA 70 group and called Dr. Eduardo Cáceres Chú, Dr. Carlos Paulet Arnaez, Dr. Alberto Vargas Lechuga, Dr. José Guembes Landaverry, Dr. José Pacheco Romero, all gynecologists and obstetricians, and Mrs. Rosa Gonzáles Marquina decided to create the orchestral group and called it the Orchestra of Social Security Doctors “Los Galenos”, the only one of its kind.
From their debut to the present, they have performed at countless events, standing out at each one for their performance quality.
Today, they enjoy great popularity in our hospital setting, enhancing their presence with beautiful songs dedicated to each and every attendee.
On March 27, 2003, Dr. Alvaro Vidal Rivadeneyra, then Dean of the Peruvian Medical Association and later Minister of Health, recognized them as Cultural Heritage of the Peruvian Medical Association during the gala recital given by the “Los Galenos” Medical Orchestra in the Pedro Weiss Auditorium of the Medical Association. This recognition was confirmed on December 30 of the same year during the gala performance at the Ministry of Health. This is a brief review of the history of this great orchestral group, unique in its kind, made up of health professionals and born within the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital, the flagship of the Peruvian Social Security system.

The choir was founded in 2005 by 30 med students and they grew fastly. The rehearse each week and produce a recital at the end of each semester. Mostly they join the Medical Orchestra Munich in the concerts. Now Jasmin Binde is conductor.

The Doctors’ Orchestra performs four to six concerts annually, often donating its services for benefits. Depending on the music, the orchestra performs concerts with between 50 and 60 members. The orchestra has performed in New York’s major concert halls including Carnegie Hall, Town Hall and Avery Fisher Hall.

The orchestra of the Padua Hospital-University Company "Asclepio Ensemble" testifies that these words are still alive today, a couple of millennia later, in a world where medicine is increasingly technological but, unfortunately, perhaps also further from the soul .
The adventure of the Asclepio Ensemble began at Christmas 2012, when a group of medical musicians found themselves playing for the sick in a hospital ward in Padua. In March 2013, a small orchestra, composed of doctors from the Padua hospital and some medical students, conducted by the Maestro, participated for the first time in the traditional concert organized by the Order of Doctors of Padua ("Doctors in concert"). /Dr. Saller. The idea of the latter is simple but ambitious: to give life to a structured musical reality, drawing from the mine of musical talents of the medical world.
As often happens, “fortuna audacis iuvat”: the initiative is an immense success, both among the organizers and among the public. The then General Director of the hospital, Dr. Claudio Dario decides to sponsor the initiative by offering the chapel of Santa Maria delle Nevi, inside the Giustinianeo hospital, as a rehearsal room.
Since that moment the Asclepio Ensemble has grown, becoming a real orchestral formation that has held numerous charity concerts in prestigious venues in Padua and its province, Treviso, Rome, alongside musical moments in the various departments dedicated to patients. Above all thanks to these initiatives, which are more important from a human than media point of view, the Asclepio Ensemble presents itself as a new tool for "doing health" and the symbol of a medicine that is not afraid of recovering its humanistic roots.
The Lisbon Medical Orchestra was born in October 2014, driven by the desire of medical students to create a project in which music would be the unifying language between students, teachers and doctors. After a year full of successes, with around 7 public presentations, this year OML opens registrations to the medical community. This is a unique opportunity to continue playing a musical instrument, combining medicine with the arts. No auditions will be held and any orchestral instruments will be accepted. The trials will take place in a location to be defined, in one of the two medical schools in Lisbon, from 6pm to 8pm, once a week, on a day yet to be defined.
The Orquestra Médica Ibérica , created in 2020, is made up of doctors and medical students from Portugal and Spain, who share their passion for music and medicine. Its main mission is to create bridges between health professionals on the Iberian Peninsula, meeting annually to hold a solidarity concert, whose ticket revenue reverts to an entity that promotes the improvement of health care, research and aid. to the most disadvantaged people. To this end, the Iberian Medical Orchestra is fully convinced that health is a basic human right that must be universally accessible and a structuring pillar for a more just society.
The Philharmonic Orchestra of Doctors at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein was created after some meetings between doctors who got together and performed for their closest family and friends. Today, 21 years after the first rehearsals, and conducted by Maestro Nasari Campos, the Orchestra performs concerts, recitals and rehearsals open to inpatients or outpatients, family members and companions.
A Orquestra Filarmônica dos Médicos do Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein foi originada após alguns encontros de médicos que se reuniam e se apresentavam para familiares e amigos mais chegados. Hoje, 21 anos depois dos primeiros ensaios, e regida pelo Maestro Nasari Campos, a Orquestra realiza concertos, recitais e ensaios abertos aos pacientes internados ou ambulatoriais, aos familiares e aos acompanhantes.
