Sheila Malek, born in 1981, began acting already as child. Her Persian family has created many actors. Nevertheless she studied medicine and becomes asthetic surgeon.
Walking along the street in Munich / Bavaria the director Klaus Lemke (see picture) talked to her and offered her a first part in a film “Schmutziger Süden”. Later came TV performances and engagements as moderator and model.

She has also had a professional dancing education and acting.

Some notable events of AMDG include: the AMDG Workshop Series, a series of dance and production workshops; I Can Dance, a community-oriented project which applies movement as a form of therapy for children with special needs; MedGroove, an inter-medical school dance and production competition; and the Year End Concert, a benefit concert of the organization open to all members which was awarded ‘Project of the Year’ last school year.

Dance Haven seeks to introduce different styles of dance, including modern, lyrical, hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tap, and all cultural genres, to the Columbia University Irving Medical Center community. Our student-run group is comprised of passionate and committed dancers, ranging in skills from those who have trained and performed professionally to those who have just discovered dance.
In addition to providing a creative outlet for its members, Dance Haven promotes a healthy, active lifestyle, an important consideration for medical students. Dance classes are taught bi-weekly by our members in varying styles of dance and are open to the entire Columbia community. Student-choreographed performances include Coffeehouse, an annual dance showcase, as well as various performances within the community.
