80 Mitglieder des Texas Medical Center Orchestra, Ärzte, Pflegekräfte, Medizinstudenten, Wissenschaftler, Zahnärzte, Therapeuten und Forscher, die ihre Liebe zur Musik teilen. Manchmal erscheinen sie im Kittel zu den Proben.
Libi Lebel aus Bellaire gründete das Orchester, als sie von Manhattan nach Houston zog mit ihrem Ex-Mann, der in der Medizin arbeitete. Sie hat Bachelor und Master der Julliard-School und studierte Klavier und Dirigeieren. Nachdem sie das Philadelphia Doctors Orchestra erlebt hatte, gefiel ihr das Konzert der musizierenden Ärzte.
“Musik ist meine Leidenschaft” sagt Lebel. “Es ist, was ich tue und was ich bin.”
Nach ihrer Ankunft in Houston sprach sie mit dem Dean der McGovern Medical School @ UTHealth und sagte ihm, dass sie ein Orchester gründen wollte. Bevor sie sich´s versah, kamen viele emails von Ärzten, die vorspielen wollten. Sie sind Ärzte am Tag und Musiker bei Nacht.

Hallym Medical Orchestra

PCOT – Physicians Chamber Orchestra of Taiwan

1991 wurde das PCOT gegründet und hat seitdem mehr als 100 Konzerte gegeben, wohl eines der produktivsten Ärzteorchester unter der Leitung von Ching-Hong KAO.
In 1991, a group of physicians and health care professionals, talented and dedicated, began the „Physicians‘ Chamber Orchestra of Taiwan „. Since then, they have given more than one hundred concerts around the island, including
regular performances in the Taipei National Concert Hall. In 1999 this chamber orchestra expanded to form the Taipei Civic Symphony Orchestra. In their 2001 French concert tour, the proceeds benefited the ‚Vie et
Espoir‘ association, a children cancer fundation. Each year, the TCSO programs four to six regular concerts at the National
Concert Hall. The conductors who used to collaborate with the TCSO include Leader Wang, Shu-Si Chen, Chan Wang, Wei-Ming Hwang, Mark Graveson,
Chih-Huei Huang, and Tien-Chi Ling.

Doctors’ Orchestra of Japan is an amateur orchestra consisting of medical doctors and medical professionals. Since being formed in 1990, we have regular concerts at annual pace.

- Das Orchester wurde 1989 gegründet. Mit 14 Streichern begann es, nun sind es über 65 Mitglieder eines Symphonieorchesters, über 500 Instrumentalisten sind bisher im Orchester gewesen.

- I Medici di McGill („Physicians of McGill“) Orchestra was founded in 1989. Its primary roots are musical talents found amongst the staff and students of the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in Montréal and their medical and musical colleagues and friends in the Montréal area.
- Since the initial 14 string players the orchestra’s membership grew to over 65 members, including the 31st season 2019-2020. Over the years more than 500 instrumentalists have been associated with the ensemble.
- Since 2014 the ensemble is under the musical leadership of Gilles Auger who succeeded Iwan Edwards (2000-2014) and the founding conductor is Wanda Kaluzny (1989-2000).
