Wir sind der Medichor! Eine Gemeinschaft aus jungen Menschen, die Freude am
gemeinsamen Musizieren haben. Die meisten von uns studieren, machen eine Ausbildung, oder sind schon in ihrem Beruf angekommen. Ursprünglich waren wir vor allem Mediziner, doch mit der Zeit haben sich immer mehr Leute aus anderen Studienrichtungen dazugesellt.
Das Singen im Chor ist für uns vor allem ein schöner Kontrast zum stressigen Alltag und soll in erster Linie Freude machen, ein Vorsingen gibt es also nicht.

Das Leipziger Ärzteorchester wurde 2012 von musikbegeisterten Leipziger Medizinern gegründet. Dem Aufruf folgten zahlreiche musizierende Ärzte und Zahnärzte. Auch engagierte Laienmusiker anderer Berufsgruppen waren – und sind – herzlich willkommen.
Den zeitlichen Besonderheiten des Arztberufes angepaßt, probt das Orchester nicht wöchentlich, sondern findet sich zweimal im Jahr zu intensiver Projekt- und Konzerttätigkeit zusammen. Es widmet sich dabei allen Musikepochen – vom Barock bis hin zu zeitgenössischen Kompositionen.
