Stephen Bowden, M.D., is a former classical pianist, having received a Bachelor’s of Music from the Manhattan School of Music before pursuing a career in medicine. He stayed in New York City for medical school, attending Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he fell in love with neurosurgery. While there, he published work on the use of fluorescein in low grade gliomas in Neurosurgery and won the Spotnitz Award for his fMRI work on vascular dysregulation in gliomas. When not in the hospital or sitting at a piano, he enjoys hiking, photography, golf, soccer, and tennis.
