Karl Landsteiner, ForMemRS[1] (June 14, 1868 – June 26, 1943), was an Austrian biologist and physician and immunologist.[2] He distinguished the main blood groups in 1900.
His discovery of the blood groups brought hi the Nobel Prize 1930.
He was honoured on an Austrian bill and with a statue in USA.
Landsteiner was an excellent pianist and had a Bechstein grand.
