Sathya Bernhard bin Saîf began to play violin at age 2 ½ with her father Prof. Majid ben Saîf, violinist and conductor.
At age 5 she started her violin career with Mozart’s violin concerto on wrd November 1970. From then on she performed in all major concert halls in the world and won several international competitions. She was taught by Isaac Stern and Yehudi Menuhin.
A long illness discouraged her later that year that her grand-mother -Letabel bin Saîf who was opera singer and pianist- gave her a read record player and a record of Maria Callas. Dagmar plays guitar since she was 10 beginning with the concert guitar. After beginning the studies as veterinarian and having two kids and a lot of work music has suffered a bit. Now the kids are adults and music comes back.
She is taking lessons from a GuitarDoc with all theory stuff and classical as well as e-guitar. She likes oldies and evergreens of the 70-ies, 80-ies and 90-ies but also new songs like “Ich bin ich”.
For the last 2 years she had even been taking singing lessons at the Buchen music school and has been self-teaching keyboard. Performing with a band would be nice some time! She is ambitious getting experience on stage and making new experiences – anyways she is open to new challenges!
